PostDoc field of study: physics, chemistry or materials science
As part of your job, you will conduct research in the department "Advanced Electron Microscopy in Materials Research" at the Institute of Nanotechnology at KIT Karlsruhe in the in the field of high-end structural analysis. In close cooperation with various research groups from the fields of chemistry, materials science and physics, you will support material science questions by means of in-situ and ex-situ transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and, if necessary, further develop existing methods and develop new approaches, existing methods and pursue new approaches. A methodological focus will be on 4D-STEM and EELS spectroscopy. It expected to develop and submit independent research proposals. In addition to your own research, you will Supervise PhD students and teach other postdocs from the department their methods, or support them at the TEM.

Hier sollen mit Hilfe von Methoden wie FIB/SEM-Tomographie und SBF-SEM versucht werden,
die Interaktionsstrukturen von Wildtyppflanzen wie etwa Arabidopsis thaliana, Tomate, Weizen
und Hülsenfrüchten mit vorteilhaften wie auch parasitischen Mikroben wie z.B. arbuskulären
Mykorrhiza, Wurzelknöllchenbakterien oder Mehltau zu untersucht. Das daraus entstehende
Repositorium an 3D-Strukturdaten soll Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede in diesen doch recht
unterschiedlichen Pflanzen-Mikroben-Assoziationen aufzeigen und auch funktionelle Rückschlüsse erlauben.
